Until I crack the alchemy of scenting with essential oils I’m only selling unfragranced candles. This is a work in progress and I hope to offer scented candles soon.
A value that I hold very close is reusing and repurposing to keep things out of landfill for as long as possible. Even recycling, compared to reusing and repurposing, carries an environmental burden.
Our candles are hand poured into reused or repurposed vessels: pretty ramekins, decorative jars, old candle containers and glasses all make elegant containers.
The Details
Repurposed
Each candle is poured into a container that’s had a previous life. While recycling is great it doesn’t come without an environmental cost so where we can repurpose the things that come into our house we do. Our candle containers were once fancy yogurt pots, jam jars, ramekins or preserve jars, and some containers started off as candles and are coming full circle
The Wax
Eco olive wax is a kind of hydrogenated olive oil and harks back to antiquity when old olive oil that was no longer good for cooking would have been used as lamp oil. It’s amazing to think that the olive tree has provided civilisation with so much over thousands of years. Even more amazing to think that some olive trees are over two thousand years old.
